iPhone App Magnets Got Us Thinking…

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

A recent CNET review (if you can call it a review) of a set of iPhone App magnets got us thinking…the sky and one’s level of creativity truly are the limit when it comes to refrigerator magnets.  Sure, standard business card magnets are by far our best seller, and do wonders for branding, marketing, and advertising, but that’s merely scratching the tip of the surface.

For example, take the below abstract magnet, courtesy of Ektor Rodriguez and created for Dietl Edition 2010.  Now, take a step or two back and you’ll see a face appear in the middle of the magnet.  Very creative, a great conversation piece, and sure to stick around for the long run in plain sight.

Or, take this oil truck shaped magnet.  Off the bat, shaped magnets are sure to stick out from the clutter (and competition), especially vehicle shaped ones.  Add in a necessary though not highly sexy business, a fine tuned dash of humor, and you have yourself a winner.  An office favorite, as well.

Lastly, check out this save the date wedding magnet.  Certainly not ideal for everyone, but if you have a good sense of humor, lighthearted friends and family, and a penchant for tequila chased with hot sauce this may be right for you.  Of course, we’re still waiting for our invitation…

Did You Know…

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Hammering or heating a magnet in a hot flame will cause it to loose its magnetic properties?  In both scenarios the molecules lose their north-south alignment and get arranged in random directions.
