Friday Tie Day!

Friday, April 29th, 2011

What would Friday be without a fun Friday tradition? Some people like to have casual Friday or Pizza Friday, but here we have ‘Friday Tie Day’! Every Friday, most of our male team members come to work with a fun or wacky tie. This tradition was proposed by our Graphic Design Manager Andreas and he insisted that it be mandatory.

As for us chicas, we still need to find a corky Friday tradition. The guys jokingly suggested that we wear prom dresses, but that’s just out of the question. What’s your Friday tradition?

Don’t they all look handsome?

DIY Magnetic Darts

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

We love playing darts but let’s face it those pointy and sharp darts can poke an eye out if you’re not careful. Taking this into consideration we decided to create a safer dart game using magnets. As you can see our good friend Jason (a dart champion) had a blast testing out our game and gave it a big THUMBS UP!

Happy April Fool’s day! Check out what we did to our team member’s car while he was hard at work! It was really hard for us to keep our composure without him finding out – but when he went outside, his reaction was PRICELESS! After everyone saw our prank and had a bunch of laughs, we helped him take off all of the magnets. This prank was definitely a successful mission. JOKES ON YOU!

What’s your favorite April Fool’s prank?

Support Japan Flag

Monday, March 28th, 2011

The devastating effects of the two earthquakes and tsunamis in Japan has broken the hearts and spirits of people around the world. Our love and support goes out to our friends in Japan who are trying to rebuild their lives, and we dedicate our very own flag design to them.

After some fidgeting around with our magnetic pieces, here are the final results:

Our team member loved the design so much that he was more than happy to sport our support Japan flag magnet design on his Jeep.

Well, we found out very quickly that magnets will absolutely not stick to funky sunglasses, nor do colleagues necessarily like being used for magnet related experiments.

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

Spring is finally here! It’s a nice, warm and sunny day with a high of 61 degrees here in New Jersey. Since we got struck with spring fever, we decided to add some flare to a Magnets.com team member’s 92′ Dodge Dakota pick-up truck!

In fact, here’s what the office fridge looks like in our break room.  With nearly every square inch accounted for, it contains, of course, just a small fraction of our collection of customer magnets.  What’s your refrigerator look like!?

Will Magnets Stick to your Cat?

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

So, we recently learned that magnets will not stick to your colleague.  Not to let the disappointment linger, we quickly found our next subject:  Daisy, our cute (and chubby) companion.  Apt to sleep the day away, and a bit cranky when awoken, we proceeded with a bit of caution, all in the name of learning.

Happily sleeping moments later, magnets certainly do not stick to cats.

Will Magnets Stick to Your Colleague?

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Today we look at a dazzling question asked throughout the ages —–”will magnets stick to your colleague? Being all things magnets, we took the bull by the horns looking for answers.

For today’s experiment, one of our graphic designers Andreas was kind enough to volunteer himself -and just a wee bit of his dignity- for the sake of science and human knowledge.  And speaking of bull, of popular (and cute) cow shaped magnet was randomly selected and put to the test.

So, today’s carefully controlled experiment proves a 25 mil magnet won’t stick to your colleague.  Indeed, a bit of a letdown, at least in our book.
