Magnet of the Week – Michael’s Express Repair’s

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

Magnet of the Week goes to the very social Michael’s Express Repair’s

Michaels order was for a 12×18 outdoor car magnet.  Outdoor magnets aren’t the only thing gaining popularity, we are sure to see Michaels friends list growing with the exposure of this magnet.

Just a few short years ago, advertising with social media didn’t even exist and yet today we could not see ourselves without it.   Social media is so much more than a website used to keep in touch and connect with friends.  Everybody from big business’ to independent business owners are using some form of social media plan to market and communicate directly to their customers.

Support a small business owner and friend request Michael’s Express Repair’s ;)

Magnet of the Week – Not Yo Mama’s Craft Fair

Friday, December 9th, 2011

We love to support local companies and when “Not yo Mamas Craft Fair” dropped by to pick up their magnet business cards, we had to showcase them as our Magnet of the Week.

“Not Yo Mama’s Craft Fair is an exclusive and unique event where the best and brightest creative’s from the Jersey City metro area can hock their DIY wares to the coolest cats in Chill Town”

We are super excited to visit their stall in JC’s Van Vorst park for the Winter Wonderland Festival – and hoping to pick up some unique gifts this holiday that are local and unique! Keeping our eyes out for those magnets too ;)

Check out their website for more details! http://www.notyomamasaffairs.com/

Magnet of the Week – RICKY!

Friday, December 2nd, 2011

On this indoor magnet dressed in a popular red and white Santa hat and matching silk bow tie is Ricky.  However, Ricky was not always this stylish and privileged. Ricky grew up on the streets, beaten and tortured by the neighborhood kids he was rescued by Patricia. A loved member of Magnets.com customer service team, and cat lover.  One meow from Ricky Patty knew he was here to stay and immediately had to get medicine for the allergies. She then maxed her credit card with vet bills and endured the scratching and biting that was part of house training this rascal cat.

Words cannot express what a big heart Patty has, but when we take a look at this custom magnet and deep into Rickys’ green eyes you can start to feel it.

Putting your pets on magnets is such a nice alternative to a throw away Christmas card. Agree? Comment and you could win your Pets face on a Magnet!

Magnet of the Week – Keep Calm and Carry on.

Friday, November 18th, 2011

Keep Calm and Carry on, has been my mantra all week.   It’s been a really crazy week.   It’s now finally Friday, and seeing these Custom oval magnets in production, I just had to call the owner Mary Beth and ask to use these bad boys as our Magnet of the Week!

This design was made in 1939 by the British Government intended to raise moral during the beginning of the Second World War.   The posters were rediscovered in 2000 and have been re-issued by tons of companies as a decorative theme for major labels and products.

In this case these magnets are being sold in a nautical themed retail store, visit them online: http://www.shipshatch.com/

It’s Veterans Day and we are honored to announce our Magnet of the Week – New England Center For Homeless Veterans.

Friday, November 11th, 2011

The New England Center for Homeless Veterans had their logo made into custom shape magnets.  As you can see, their custom logo is of 2 dog tags chained together with information about the company written on the tags.   We think it’s a great idea for promotional magnets and a very clever design!

Based in Boston the Mission of the New England Center for homeless Veterans is to extend a helping hand to homeless men and women veterans.  Veterans gave the ultimate sacrifice to our beautiful country, and we thank the NECHV for their continued support and care.

Magnet of the week – Living Vertical

Monday, October 31st, 2011

Steve Richert got diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in high school.  At the same time he was diagnosed he learnt about climbing in a unit in PE.  He knew instantly that climbing would be part of his life, but what he didn’t know then, was that his diagnosis would influence his motive to climb.

Today, 13 years later Steve is an avid climber, a man of purpose, and soon to be film maker.   Steve is taking on a huge challenge of determination and endurance.  Climbing for 365 days!!  Starting January 1st 2012, and climbing all over the USA and Canada.  You can view his schedule here, http://www.livingvertical.org/365-challenge/

Originally motivated by inspiring those with a chronic illness to use outdoor fitness to manage their health, Steve and his wife have reached far beyond that and are reaching out to all youth to get active and be responsible for their health and well being.  They will be sharing their experience by filming a documentary of their adventures.

Being responsibility with Diabetes means constant awareness of your body, self reliance and accountability.   What far better way to learn about yourself, see your health improve and to see your goals achieved than climbing a mountain or a really big rock!?!?

Magnet of the Week – Backstage Artist Lounge (and us… kinda).

Wednesday, October 12th, 2011

Every few weeks we make magnets for the Backstage Artist Lounge.  Their very cool designs reflect their own unique style and the bands they tour with.

The Backstage Artist Lounge business model creates value by taking brands on tour, creating content, attracting publicity, supporting artists, promoting festivals/tours, and producing the exclusive artist area backstage at major concerts where sponsors connect with talented bands for product sampling and relationship building opportunities.”

This week I chose one of their most recent designs, and just had to throw in an image of  Marcos, Guitarist from the band P.O.D. who is posing with one of our Magnets.  We are so proud and feeling a little bit rockstar, we are thinking studded belts for all!

What’s sweeter than being the Magnet of the Week?  Well, quite possible our Magnet of the week – Capital Confectioners’.   In Austin Texas, Capital Confectioners’ they hold an annual Sugar Art Show & Cake Competition! That’s right, a cake club!

The show offers cake art classes and celebrity spotting from (my favorite channel) the food network.  They also have a tasting competition and I can’t stop thinking – how on earth do I become a judge?
